Idea Grove Logo 2

The Project

Idea Grove Bradenton is a business incubator for young, emerging design professionals, enticed by collaborative and focus-driven environments, where a young designer can seek necessary feedback from fresh, different minds. Working with the client and potential financial backers, extensive research provided by leading office furniture companies such as Steelcase, Herman Miller, and Haworth was conducted on the pros and cons of the open office environment.

  • Square footage: 10,000
  • Location: 1012 Manatee Ave W, Bradenton, Florida
  • Originally named TechPlace, renamed Idea Grove
  • 8 individual projects were pitched to mayor of Bradenton and local government officials
Citrus

The Concept

The concept is citrus, inspired by the state crop of Florida and the founding of Tropicana in Bradenton, Florida. Variety and repetition will be applied to color, as citrus fruits come in many eye-popping, vibrant colors and textures. Rhythm will be applied to the geometric segments of the fruit give structure to the citrus slices, and create intricate patterns. Scale will also be applied to the form of the fruit, as there is a large variety between not only the fruits we pick out in the supermarket, but the citrus trees themselves.

Branding

A company's identity is solidified with its branding; through concept development, a brand was created for Idea Grove, the logo being the embodiment of the lively color and environment created.

Logo designed in collaboration with Wendy Oliva, a Business of Art and Design student.
